In the Honda LPGA Thailand held in Chonburi, Yuka Saso and Bianca Pagdanganan exhibited their formidable skills by tackling the lengthy holes of Siam Country Club’s Old Course with impressive power. Saso carded a 69, while Pagdanganan posted a 68 in the second round, demonstrating their resilience and keeping their chances alive in the tournament.

Despite encountering a double bogey setback on the 6th hole, Saso managed to birdie all four par-5s, including a crucial birdie on the 18th, to finish with a three-under 69. This performance propelled her up the leaderboard to joint 17th position with a total score of 138, just four strokes behind the leaders.

On the other hand, Pagdanganan showcased her prowess by birdieing all but one of the par-5s, contributing to her four-under 68 for the round. This impressive display helped her climb from tied 42nd to a share of 24th place with a total score of 139, trailing the leaders by five shots.

Despite facing challenges such as errant shots and putting woes, Saso demonstrated her championship caliber by recovering well and finishing with a respectable 28-putt performance. Pagdanganan, meanwhile, exhibited improvements in her driving distance and accuracy, hitting 11 fairways and increasing her driving distance from 267 to 282 yards.

With the competition heating up and several contenders vying for the top spot, including Swede Madelene Sagstrom, Thai Patty Tavatanakit, and Korean Sei Young Kim, the stage is set for an exciting battle in the upcoming rounds of the $1.7-million championship.
