In the Malaysian Open in Seri Kembangan, Angelo Que showcased his exceptional talent with a superb six-under 65, climbing 10 spots in the rankings to join the eighth position. Meanwhile, Miguel Tabuena staged a comeback with a 70, positioning himself back into contention after three rounds.

The tournament saw a new leader emerge in Jared Du Toit, who surged ahead with a remarkable 62 at the Mines Resort and Golf Club. Du Toit’s solid performance, highlighted by a four-under frontside 31 and two three-birdie streaks, propelled him to a one-stroke lead over Kevin Yuan and John Catlin.

Que, initially six strokes behind the lead after 36 holes, made a strong start with three birdies in the first seven holes. Despite a minor setback with a missed-green bogey, he rallied with four more birdies in the last eight holes to secure a share of eighth place.

On the other hand, Tabuena showed promise early on with three birdies in the first six holes but encountered challenges with two bogeys and a double bogey, dropping him to a joint 28th position. However, he fought back with birdies on the 15th and 17th holes to salvage a 70 and express confidence in his chances for the final round.

Tabuena’s short game remained a crucial asset in his pursuit, with an impressive 27-putt performance, including nine one-putts executed in scrambling fashion. His resilience and skill showcased his potential for another victory following his recent triumph in the DGC Open in New Delhi, India.
