PH ice hockey team is preparing for participation in the IIHF

The Philippine national women’s ice hockey team is set to compete in the 2024 International Ice Hockey Federation (IIHF) Women’s Asia and Oceania Championship Division 1 in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. This marks their return to action since the Covid-19 pandemic, with their last participation dating back to 2019.

The team includes Bianca Cuevas, Danielle Imperial, Cassia Marino, Kathleen Tan, Illeana Jimenez, Can Sanchez, Nikka Villanueva, Miki Aguirre, Rhianne Alix, Jodi Dino, Rangel Benitez, Kamil Cubillo, Rita Ceguerra, Georgie Regencia, Geddy Go, Eadrea Ham, Gaby Laysico, and Lou Cauyao, along with Nicole Embalzado and Rosalyn Lim as the goaltenders.

Danielle Imperial will lead the team as captain, with Rita Ceguerra and Bianca Cuevas serving as alternates. Their participation follows the men’s team’s performance at the 2024 IIHF World Championships Division 3B in Sarajevo, Bosnia and Herzegovina, where they secured a 4th place finish.
