The Philippine national women’s ice hockey team is poised to extend its success at the IIHF Women’s Asia and Oceania Cup as they face India today in Bishkek, Kyrgyzstan. Originally slated to play against Kuwait, the team’s schedule shifted due to Kuwait and Malaysia withdrawing from the tournament because of Ramadan.

Fresh from their victory against Kyrgyzstan, where forward Bianca Cuevas scored a hat trick, the team is riding high on momentum. Captain Danielle Imperial also contributed significantly with two goals and two assists, while defenseman Kamil Cubillo secured the game-winning goal.

In contrast, India faced defeat against the United Arab Emirates, losing 2-1. The UAE’s Dana Alhosani scored both goals for her team.
