As Apollo Quiboloy announced plans to go into hiding, the United States embassy in Manila expressed confidence that the founder of the Kingdom of Jesus Christ (KOJC) will face justice for the serious crimes he is accused of. Quiboloy, who has been indicted by a federal grand jury in the US for various charges including sex trafficking and conspiracy, has alleged that both the US and Philippine governments are conspiring against him.

According to the US embassy spokesperson Kanishka Gangopadhyay, Quiboloy has been engaged in serious human rights abuses for over a decade, including allegations of systemic rape of underage girls. While Quiboloy claimed that the US has placed a bounty on his arrest, the FBI clarified that while there is an active warrant for his arrest, they are not aware of any bounty.

In response to the accusations against him, Quiboloy has been subpoenaed by both the Senate and the House of Representatives in the Philippines to appear in investigations regarding the allegations against him. Senator Risa Hontiveros warned Quiboloy that if he fails to appear at the upcoming hearing on March 5, she will issue an arrest order against him.

Speaker Martin Romualdez advised Quiboloy to face the charges against him and respect the legal processes. He denied Quiboloy’s insinuations that the government is conspiring against him and emphasized the commitment of government officials to upholding the rule of law.

The Philippine National Police (PNP) also clarified that there is no order to raid Quiboloy’s residence or monitor his followers in Davao City, refuting Quiboloy’s claims of a plot to eliminate him through rendition.

The developments surrounding Quiboloy highlight the gravity of the accusations against him and the legal challenges he faces both domestically and internationally.
