Senator Bong Go expressed his support for the development initiatives of Marinduque

Senator Bong Go showed his admiration for Marinduque’s significant contributions to the country’s cultural and economic landscape during the commemoration of the province’s 104th Founding Anniversary. He pledged his support for the province’s development initiatives and emphasized the importance of bringing government services closer to its communities.

In his speech at the Capitol Convention Center in Boac town, Senator Go extended warm greetings to the people of Marinduque, praising their unity and resilience. He also highlighted the province’s tourist destinations, such as the Moriones Festival and its stunning beaches, which play a crucial role in boosting the local economy through tourism.

As vice chairman of the Senate Finance Committee, Senator Go has supported various projects in Marinduque, including road construction and rehabilitation in different towns, the establishment of a molecular laboratory in Boac, and the acquisition of a motor vehicle for Torrijos town.

Governor Presbitero “Presby” Velasco Jr. expressed gratitude to Senator Go for his visit and continuous support for the province, particularly in the health sector. He announced that Senator Go would be named an adopted son of Marinduque as a gesture of appreciation for his assistance with the province’s programs and projects.

Governor Velasco also highlighted the impact of the Malasakit Center in Marinduque Provincial Hospital in Boac, which has provided assistance to thousands of indigent patients in the province. The Malasakit Centers program, initiated by Senator Go in 2018 and later institutionalized under Republic Act 11463, aims to provide convenient access to medical assistance programs offered by the government. Since its establishment, the program has set up 159 operational centers nationwide.
