PBBM departs for the US; Sara, Bersamin, Estrella appointed caretakers

While President Marcos attends a trilateral summit with the US and Japan in Washington, Vice President Sara Duterte, Executive Secretary Lucas Bersamin, and Agrarian Reform Secretary Conrado Estrella III have been appointed as caretakers of the country. This arrangement, with VP Sara as chair and assisted by ES Bersamin and Sec. Estrella, aims to ensure continuity in governance during the President’s absence. VP Duterte, ES Bersamin, and Sec. Estrella previously served as caretakers during President Marcos’ overseas visits, including the 42nd ASEAN Summit in Indonesia last year. President Marcos expressed his goals for the trilateral summit, emphasizing the advancement of economic cooperation and discussions on regional security issues. Additionally, he plans to engage in bilateral talks with US President Joe Biden and meet with business leaders to encourage investment in the Philippines.
