Mylah Roque, the spouse of former presidential spokesperson Harry Roque, has been ousted from her role as a member of the board of trustees of the Home Development Fund (Pag-Ibig), according to a statement released by the Presidential Communications Office.

Her position has been filled by Maria Lourdes D. Doria-Velarde, who was designated by President Marcos to act as a member representing the private employers’ sector.

Roque had initially been appointed to the Pag-Ibig board in 2017 during the administration of then-President Rodrigo Duterte.

This move to replace her comes shortly after statements made by her husband, lawyer Harry Roque, insinuating that Duterte had cautioned him about the likelihood of being arrested by the International Criminal Court. Duterte is presently under scrutiny for alleged crimes against humanity linked to the drug war casualties during his presidency and his tenure as mayor of Davao City.

Moreover, Roque asserted that, alongside the purported impending arrest of Duterte, there were discussions within the Armed Forces of the Philippines about disbanding Task Force Davao. This force comprises about 700 soldiers and was established to safeguard Davao against perceived terrorism threats.
