Senator Christopher “Bong” Go presided over the opening of the Malasakit Center at the Mayor Joni Villanueva General Hospital in Barangay Igulot, Bocaue, Bulacan. Also in attendance were Senate Majority Leader Emmanuel Joel Villanueva, Health Undersecretary Rosario Vergeire, Gov. Daniel Fernando, Vice Gov. Alexis Castro, 5th District Rep. Ambrosio Cruz Jr., Mayor Jonjon Villanueva, Vice Mayor Sherwin Tugna, and actor Phillip Salvador, who accompanied the senator.

This marks the fourth Malasakit Center in Bulacan and the 161st nationwide, with the first center launched in the province at the Bulacan Medical Center in Malolos in 2018, followed by centers at the Rogaciano M. Mercado Memorial Hospital in Sta. Maria in 2020 and the Ospital ng Lungsod ng San Jose del Monte in 2023. These centers serve as one-stop shops for medical services, providing free assistance and medicines to poor and indigent families.

Senator Go emphasized that patients, especially indigents, can avail themselves of medical assistance from various government agencies, including the Department of Health (DoH), Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD), Philippine Health Insurance Corp., and Philippine Charity Sweepstakes Office, through Malasakit Centers.

Senator Villanueva and Mayor Jonjon Villanueva expressed gratitude to Senator Go for bringing the Malasakit Center to their hometown. Governor Fernando also thanked Senator Go for his continuous support to the people of Bulacan, noting that the land for the Joni Villanueva General Hospital was donated to the DoH by the late Mayor Joni Villanueva during the Covid-19 pandemic in 2020.
