House Deputy Speaker and Cebu 5th District Representative Vincent Franco Frasco has taken action to address the pressing issue of traffic congestion in Metropolitan Cebu by filing House Resolution 1592 on February 14.

The resolution highlights the significant challenges posed by traffic congestion and transportation-related problems in Metropolitan Cebu, exacerbated by its growing population and urban development.

Frasco emphasizes the detrimental effects of the traffic crisis on the general public, particularly commuters, whose well-being, convenience, and safety are compromised. Additionally, the congestion negatively impacts the movement of goods and services, leading to disruptions in economic activities and businesses.

Recognizing the urgency of the situation, Frasco calls for a thorough examination of the current traffic situation in Metropolitan Cebu and the development of effective measures to address the crisis. The proposed House investigation aims to gather insights from stakeholders and experts to formulate recommendations for alleviating congestion and improving transportation infrastructure in the region.

Metropolitan Cebu, comprising several cities and towns, plays a crucial role in the industrial, commercial, and financial development of the Visayas and Mindanao regions. As the second fastest-growing metro in the country, addressing the traffic crisis is essential for sustaining its growth and fostering economic prosperity.

Through collaborative efforts and legislative action, Frasco seeks to find sustainable solutions that will enhance mobility, ease congestion, and ensure the continued progress of Metropolitan Cebu.
