NCH continues offering more free dialysis sessions
Mayor John Rey Tiangco of Navotas City recently announced that the Navotas City Hospital (NCH) has enhanced its capacity to provide free dialysis services for impoverished residents. The hospital has acquired eight new hemodialysis machines, increasing its daily capacity from 15 to 21 sessions for non-infectious patients. Additionally, one machine will be dedicated to patients with infectious diseases.
Mayor Tiangco emphasized the city’s commitment to delivering high-quality medical services and maintaining top-notch equipment and facilities. However, he also stressed the importance of preventive healthcare, encouraging Navoteños to prioritize their health and avoid lifestyle-related illnesses that may necessitate treatment.
For PhilHealth members, up to 156 free hemodialysis sessions are available annually. Before reaching this limit, Navoteño patients are enrolled in national and local medical assistance programs to help cover the cost of each session, which amounts to P2,600.
In another initiative, Mayor Tiangco established a partnership with Navotas Polytechnic College and all senior high schools to establish Public Employment Service Office (PESO) help desks. Memorandums of agreement were signed with city schools to enhance the delivery of employment services to students and recent graduates.
Through the PESO Desks, Navoteño youth will receive guidance, preparation, and support as they pursue their desired careers, contributing to their overall development and success.
