The Food and Drug Administration (FDA) has issued a stern warning regarding the escalating prevalence of deceptive endorsements of health products across various social media platforms. Officials underscored that endorsing such products is unequivocally prohibited by law and carries no legal authority, thereby contravening existing regulations. This cautionary statement is prompted by the alarming surge in unauthorized endorsements, which not only have the potential to mislead consumers but also pose significant health hazards. In support of its stance, the FDA referenced Republic Act No. 9711, commonly known as the “Food and Drug Administration Act of 2009,” which explicitly prohibits the promotion or sale of health products without the requisite authorization. To bolster consumer protection and ensure public safety, the FDA urges individuals to diligently verify the registration status of health products through its Verification Portal. By taking proactive measures to authenticate the legitimacy of health products, consumers can mitigate the risks associated with false endorsements and make informed decisions regarding their health and well-being.
