The Department of Labor and Employment (DOLE) has issued a warning regarding the spread of false information online regarding the hiring process for beneficiaries of the Tulong Panghanapbuhay sa ating Disadvantaged/Displaced Workers (TUPAD) Program.

In a social media post, DOLE refuted claims that beneficiaries would receive a daily wage of P800, clarifying that the program’s minimum wages are determined by regional wage boards.

The misleading visuals, initially shared on February 14, suggested that interested individuals could apply by contacting the publishers or registering on a website. Images of TUPAD rewards were used to attract attention.

According to the misleading information, the program purportedly accepts applicants aged 27 to 60 who have completed elementary, high school, or college education. The posts provided two links for application and another two for details on qualifications, emphasizing that online applications are required and walk-ins will not be accepted.

DOLE urged the public to report any entities involved in such deceptive practices to the authorities. They provided contact information for reporting, including the DOLE Hotline 1349 and the nearest DOLE office, with corresponding contact numbers available on the department’s official website.

TUPAD is a community-based assistance program aimed at providing emergency employment to displaced, underemployed, and seasonal workers.
