HK dual jewelry fairs return, pledging to carry on their “splendid legacy”

In its 10th year, the 5-day International Diamond, Gem, and Pearl Show, held at the AsiaWorld-Expo from February 27 to March 2, presented top-notch raw materials, offering jewelers a plethora of options. Following this, the HKTDC Hong Kong International Jewellery Show celebrated its 40th edition from February 29 to March 4, showcasing exquisite masterpieces from Hong Kong and worldwide.

Bernard Chan, Hong Kong SAR acting secretary for Commerce and Economic Development, announced during the International Diamond, Gem, and Pearl Show’s opening ceremony that both fairs brought together 4,000 exhibitors from 44 countries and regions, reflecting the country’s competitiveness in the global stage. HKTDC Deputy Executive Director Sophia Chong noted that over 60 percent of this year’s exhibitors hailed from overseas, highlighting the twin fairs’ remarkable international presence.

With attendees from Mainland China, India, Japan, the Philippines, Thailand, and the United States, the fairs drew 81,000 buyers from 137 countries and regions, according to HKTDC. The most popular precious metal products at the shows were karat white gold, yellow gold, and rose gold, while diamonds remained the most sought-after gemstone.

Renowned jewelry brands like Moiseikin and Osi Vitoria showcased their exceptional creations at the International Jewellery Show. Moiseikin unveiled its Fortune Bird and Ball of Colour collections, while Osi Vitoria showcased the Floral Ensemble necklace, demonstrating exquisite craftsmanship and creativity.

Overall, the twin jewelry fairs not only exhibited stylish and opulent pieces but also facilitated networking and business opportunities, contributing significantly to Hong Kong’s economy. The success of the event reaffirmed HKTDC’s legacy in hosting trade fairs and left a lasting impact on jewelers, enthusiasts, and collectors alike.
