In a heartwarming showcase of resilience and determination, a 66-year-old single mother, a recent Criminology graduate, and a former warehouse staff shared their unique journeys into the world of driving, where they found not only financial stability but also empowerment. Arabe, the 66-year-old, embarked on her taxi-driving career in Baguio to support her family, eventually joining Grab to enhance her income. Sheryl Barrantes, motivated by her brother’s medical needs, ventured into Grab Express and later joined MoveIt, realizing better earnings than her previous job. Arianne Hinara Claire Geguera turned to driving to support her family and prepare for her board exams.

Their inspiring stories were celebrated at Grab and MoveIt’s Babae Ako, Bibyahe Ako event, reflecting a commitment to gender inclusivity and livelihood opportunities. Initiatives like the Women Preference Toggle on the Grab app aim to create safer spaces for female drivers and passengers.
