It seems there’s been a mix-up in the news. Tom Hollander, the British actor known for his roles in “White Lotus,” “Pirates of the Caribbean,” and “Pride and Prejudice,” shared an amusing anecdote during his appearance on “Late Night with Seth Meyers.” He recounted how he once received a payslip intended for Tom Holland, the actor who portrays Spider-Man in the Marvel Cinematic Universe.

Hollander explained that he and Holland had at one time shared the same agent, leading to some confusion. His agency mistakenly sent him an email containing a payslip for Holland’s seven-figure film bonus for “The Avengers,” a movie in which Hollander was not involved.

Upon receiving the email, Hollander was initially taken aback by the astonishing sum of money mentioned. He humorously noted that it was more money than he had ever seen before and clarified that it was only the first installment of Holland’s box office bonus.

While this mix-up resulted in a humorous anecdote, Hollander also shared that being mistaken for Holland has sometimes led to less enjoyable encounters. He recounted instances where excited individuals mistook him for the younger actor, only to realize their mistake and feel disappointed.

In jest, Hollander remarked, “It’s been very difficult. Because, you know, I was here first,” highlighting the occasional challenges of sharing a name and being associated with a more famous counterpart.

During his appearance on the show, Hollander was promoting his upcoming series “Feud: Capote vs. The Swans,” where he portrays American writer Truman Capote.
