The recent auction at Excalibur Auctions in Hertfordshire, UK, witnessed the sale of an original “Star Wars” script, once owned by none other than Harrison Ford himself. The script, which dates back to March 15, 1976, was utilized by Ford during his time in London for the filming of the inaugural chapter of the iconic space saga, originally titled “The Adventures of Luke Starkiller.”

The fourth draft of the screenplay, containing revisions and notable introductions such as the character of Han Solo on page 56, fetched an impressive £10,795 ($13,600) at the auction. This historic artifact, left behind by Ford in a London apartment alongside shooting schedules, which sold for £4,826, and a personal letter, acquired for £177.80, remained preserved by the landlords of the property for several decades.

The sale of the script, along with other associated items, underscores the enduring appeal and fascination of “Star Wars” memorabilia among collectors and fans alike. Jonathan Torode, the auctioneer at Excalibur Auctions, highlighted the significance of personal connections to such items, noting that this sale marked a new record for the price of a “Star Wars” script, illustrating the profound allure it holds for enthusiasts of the franchise.
