In the absence of Taylor Swift herself, the Philippines boasts its own sensation, Mac Coronel, better known as Taylor Sheesh, who has been garnering attention overseas as the beloved impersonator of the global star.

Coronel’s international recognition was solidified with his appearance on Australia’s “Today Show” and features on prominent websites such as bbc.com. His performances, particularly in Melbourne, Australia, have captivated audiences worldwide, sparking widespread online curiosity.

What began as a fun gig at a local mall quickly escalated into a viral sensation among Swifties fans after videos of Coronel’s impersonations surfaced online. As a drag queen and longtime Swiftie since 2009, Coronel found success in channeling Swift’s persona, leading to invitations to perform at various venues.

While Coronel has been impersonating Swift since 2017, it was during the ongoing “Taylor Swift: The Eras Tour” that he gained broader recognition. With the Philippines excluded from the tour, Filipino Swifties eagerly embraced Taylor Sheesh at free music events across the country.

In Melbourne, where demand for tickets to Swift’s Eras Tour was high, Coronel’s own “The Errors Tours” became a hit among Aussie Swifties seeking an alternative experience. The turnout at Fed Square was remarkable, with Coronel noting the incredible energy and enthusiasm of the Australian fans.

Following his success in Melbourne, Coronel’s next destination is Singapore, where “The Errors Tour” will take place at Hard Rock Cafe on March 16 and 17. Excited by the overwhelming response from Singaporean Swifties, Coronel expressed gratitude for the sold-out tickets and anticipation for the upcoming shows.
