TV host Boy Abunda indirectly addressed the statements made by former engaged couple Bea Alonzo and Dominic Roque. Speaking to “24 Oras'” Nelson Canlas during his GMA Network contract renewal, Abunda shared his perspective on the matter.

“There is a reason to react to that statement, but I am not going to do that now because I realized that people involved in this controversy are going through pain,” Abunda stated.

He emphasized the pain associated with breakups and the importance of respecting that pain, choosing to remain silent as a sign of respect.

“Breaking up is painful, it’s painful to find yourself in that situation, even pain deserves respect, and I choose to stay silent,” Abunda added.

Alonzo and Roque officially announced their split on Sunday, expressing their desire for more time to consider and pray about their decision. They also addressed the rumors surrounding their breakup, citing the need to share the announcement for their peace of mind and their families’ sake.

The couple’s breakup had been circulating in the rumor mill prior to their official announcement, with speculation fueled by changes in their behavior, including the absence of Alonzo’s engagement ring.
