On May 27, WILCON Depot, the Philippines’ largest home improvement and construction supply retailer, opened its 76th location in Lemery, Batangas

To all Batangueos, the store provides a wide range of top-of-the-line products and home solutions with the highest quality standards, creative and sustainable features.

The Lemery location is the company’s fourth in the province of Batangas. Wilcon made its first foray into the province in 2010, when store opens in Wilcon Depot Batangas City. The opening of two more outlets in Lipa City in 2018 and Santo Tomas City in 2019 followed.

The Wilcon Depot Lemery branch opened with a motorcade around the local barangays (villages), with various respected suppliers and industry partners in attendance. Before the ribbon-cutting ceremony, there was a lion dance and a blessing at 11:15 a.m.

Wilcon Depot President and Chief Executive Officer Lorraine Belo-Cincochan led the ribbon-cutting ceremony, which was attended by local government officials from Batangas, including Mayor Geraldine Ornales, Batangas First District Rep. Eileen Buhain, and former Olympian and now Congressman-elect Eric Buhain.

Belo-Cincochan welcomed everyone who attended the ceremony and thanked everyone for continuing to shop Wilcon Deport for their home repair requirements during a short program following the ribbon-cutting and blessing.

When store opens she also underlined Wilcon Depot’s role in helping communities develop and rebuild, particularly those devastated by the Taal Volcano’s recent eruptions, where Wilcon Depot was extensively involved in the rebuilding efforts.

“We’re here to be a part of the community… we hire individuals from the area… therefore this is part of our mission to serve the neighborhood,” she explained.

For her part, Ornales expressed gratitude to Wilcon Depot for opening another branch in Batangas, reiterating Belo-assertion Cincochan’s that it provided more job prospects to Batangas locals, particularly those in the surrounding areas.

She also noted that the presence of Wilcon Depot helps bring in more revenue to the city, particularly to Barangay Malinis, where it is located.

Wilcon Depot currently operates 18 locations in Metro Manila and 58 outlets in significant cities and towns across Luzon, Visayas, and Mindanao, with nine more planned this year.

“We want to expand and reach a hundred stores,” Belo-Cincochan said, adding that they want to do it by 2025.
