The sale of SkyCable has been called off

PLDT Inc. and ABS-CBN Corp. have announced that their planned purchase agreement for Sky Cable will no longer proceed. The deal, valued at P6.75 billion, was the latest attempt by businessman Manuel Pangilinan to acquire the Lopez-owned cable business. Despite earlier expectations of completion next month and clearance from competition authorities in January, both companies have mutually decided to halt the transaction. No specific reasons were provided for this decision. Despite this development, Sky Cable’s cable TV services will continue, and its internet broadband service, SKYFiber, remains unaffected.
