PAL is launching a last mile cargo delivery service

The expansion of Philippine Airlines’ (PAL) cargo operations is anticipated to receive a boost from the launch of the airline’s last-mile cargo delivery service, which is currently in the planning stages.

PAL has made the announcement that it would soon start providing a last-mile delivery service for cargoes that will be arriving in Manila.

The national airline is working along with on-demand delivery services and logistical firms for the pilot phase of the service, which is now being evaluated.

Compared to the same period last year, PAL’s freight business brought in $88.59 million in revenue, which is equivalent to P4.58 billion. This is a 72 percent increase year over year.

The company’s revenue from the cargo industry grew by 59 percent in the past year, reaching P15.02 billion, up from P9.43 billion in the year 2020.

According to the corporation, the significant growth of PAL’s cargo delivery service is a signal of a strengthening business climate and an improving economy.

Since the beginning of the epidemic, the operation of thousands of domestic and international freight flights by PAL has helped to contribute to the delivery of vital commodities.

“We appreciate our cargo delivery service and customers’ professionalism in working with us. “This has allowed us to efficiently carry out our role in helping keep part of the essential supply chain moving, especially during the height of the pandemic,” said PAL vice president for cargo business Jason Siy. “We have been able to keep a part of the essential supply chain moving, especially during the height of the pandemic.”

According to what he had to say, “Our freight capacity, route network, and aircraft capability have allowed us to airlift crucial cargo to the Philippines from key cities across the world and vice versa.
