Globe will open 1,700 cell spots this year

GLOBE Telecoms disclosed on Wednesday that it intends to open over 1,700 new cell spots this year in order to broaden its customer base, enhance its communication capabilities, and give speedier access to the internet.

In a statement, Globe expressed its desire to achieve a higher number of completed building projects than the 1,407 it achieved in 2018.

According to Joel Agustin, SVP and Head of Network Planning and Engineering for Glo, “These metrics truly speak to the intensive investments that we’ve made to improve customer experience on our network.” “We believe that consistency is the most important experience metric because it’s not just speed that matters to customers, but consistency as well,” Agustin says. “These metrics truly speak to the intensive investments that we’ve made to improve customer experience on our network.”

According to Globe, in the first three months of 2022, they deployed 380 5G sites, upgraded 2,344 mobile sites to 4G, and created 234 cell sites nationally.

According to Agustin, the rapid rollout was made possible by Globe’s capital expenditures for the quarter totaling P21 billion. This represents 24 percent of Globe’s full-year capital expenditure target of P89 billion.

The needs that were associated with data made as close to 82 percent of the total.

Ookla and Opensignal, two worldwide analytics companies, recognized Globe as the most consistent mobile provider in the Philippines for the first quarter of 2022. Globe has stated that it is working toward becoming the #1stWorldNetwork.

According to Opensignal’s Mobile Network Experience assessment for the Philippines in April 2022, Globe Mobile was rated as having the highest possible mobile quality.

According to the statement, Globe came out on top of the list in both the “Core Consistent Quality” and “Excellent Consistent Quality” categories.

The new cell spots this year of Globe’s network is in line with the United Nations Sustainable Development Goals, particularly United Nations Sustainable Development Goal No. 9, which highlights the significance of infrastructure and innovation as drivers of economic growth and development.

Agustin continued by saying, “It is much more vital to maintain a constant level of quality so as not to disturb the client experience.” We have met expectations on that front, and we anticipate that we will continue to do so as we move forward with our network investments and activities.
