Converge ICT Solutions, Inc. has aligned its approach to sustainability with standards that are internationally recognized and of world-class caliber after becoming a participant in the world’s largest corporate social responsibility project.

CEO and co-founder of Converge Dennis Anthony Uy made the announcement that the company has joined the United Nations Global Compact effort. This initiative is a voluntary leadership platform for the development, implementation, and disclosure of responsible business practices.

A call to action for corporations to align their operations and strategies with 10 internationally agreed upon principles in the areas of human rights, labor, the environment, and anti-corruption, the United Nations Global Compact is a document that was created by the United Nations.

Converge has indicated that its corporate social responsibility plan will adhere to these criteria and include them in its ongoing projects and operations moving forward.

Over 15,000 commercial and non-business signatories from over 160 countries and 69 local networks have committed to the United Nations Global Compact since its inception in the year 2000. The UN Global Compact is the largest corporate sustainability project in the world.

Benjamin Azada, the chief strategy officer for Converge, made the following statement: “With this statement, Converge joins hundreds of other organizations around the world dedicated to taking responsible business action to create the society we all deserve.”

Converge expected to have laid around 103,000 kilometers of fiber across the country by the end of the year 2021.

At the conclusion of the year, it had 1.69 million residential customers as subscribers.

In addition to strengthening its foothold in Luzon, the company intends to broaden its distribution network into the untapped regions of Visayas and Mindanao.

Moving ahead, the corporate social responsibility approach that Converge will adhere to will incorporate these concepts into its strategies as well as its day-to-day operations.

The United Nations Global Compact is predicated on the idea that a company’s ability to maintain its social and environmental stewardship can be traced back to the values it upholds and the way it conducts business. It makes an effort to incorporate universal ideals into the identity of the organization in order to transform it into an institution that is responsible on a global scale.

It is believed that if a corporation satisfies the requirements of the United Nations Global Compact, it will not only contribute to broader socio-economic changes, but it will also boost its business performance.
