Converge ICT Solutions Inc., an internet provider, has pledged to improve fiber solutions in the Philippines.

Converge ICT Solutions Inc., a listed fiber internet provider, is expanding internationally.

Converge’s Chief Operations Officer, Jesus Romero, spoke with a panel of speakers at the International Telecoms Week (ITW) last month on the present state of fiber internet and expressed his thoughts on how fiber connectivity solutions could influence the world in the next years.

The company also displayed their enterprise-level solutions at the recently finished CommunicAsia, an annual information and communications technology exhibition and conference held in Singapore.

“It’s part of our commitment to provide the Philippines with superior fiber solutions,” Romero added. “We want to connect with markets not just in our country, but around the world to improve our infrastructure,” says the company. “This further expansion outside of the Philippines, partnering with global enterprises and international markets, would help us reach out to and provide fast, reliable, and affordable internet solutions to the unserved and underserved.”

Converge recently deployed over 500,000 kilometers of fiber in the Philippines, bolstering its network backbone and allowing them to reach underserved and unserved areas. The corporation is ready to expand into worldwide markets with all of these renovations and extensions to their infrastructure, not only in the country.

Converge secured an agreement with Keppel Telecommunications & Transportation’s Bifrost Cable System last year. Bifrost is an undersea cable system that might connect Asia and North America’s west coast. An Indefeasible Right of Use was awarded to Converge for one fiber pair on Bifrost’s main trunk, as well as a cable landing point in Davao.

Apart from this investment, Converge recently joined the Southeast Asia Hainan-Hong Kong Express Cable System (SEA-H2X) submarine cable consortium. Along with China Mobile International Ltd., China Unicom Global, and PPTEL SEA H2X Sdn. Bhd., the ICT firm owns 25% of the cable system. Bhd.

“We don’t simply want to move forward; we want to march forward,” Romero remarked. “By participating in these international infrastructures, we will be able to expand our own infrastructure capacities, resulting in increased bandwidth for all of our subscribers, both residential and enterprise, and we will be able to provide better enterprise-level fiber solutions for the Philippines as we expand our portfolios.

Converge Business presently provides SMEs and larger businesses with secure and dynamic pure fiber solutions.

Converge shares are down, but still up 3.4 percent.
