The Philippine air travel industry experienced a notable resurgence in 2023, reaching passenger levels comparable to pre-pandemic times, as reported by the Civil Aeronautics Board (CAB). Domestic passenger traffic surged by 28 percent to 28.96 million, with Cebu Pacific leading with 12.86 million passengers, followed by PAL Express, AirAsia Philippines, Cebgo, and Philippine Airlines (PAL). Additionally, international passenger traffic soared to 21.21 million, significantly surpassing the 2022 figure of 9.83 million. PAL led in international passenger carriage, followed by Cebu Pacific, AirAsia Philippines, and Royal Air Charter Service. Moreover, domestic cargo traffic increased to 237.53 million kilograms, with Cebu Pacific and PAL Express leading in cargo transportation.
