OCTA – Tulfo prevailed over Sara in the 2028 “match-up” polls
In the latest round of commissioned polls conducted by OCTA Research for the 2028 presidential race, Senator Raffy Tulfo emerged as the frontrunner, significantly surpassing Vice President Sara Duterte by a margin of 10 to 15 points in all survey results, as disclosed by OCTA fellow Ranjit Rye. However, Rye cautioned against placing too much significance on these findings, noting that the dynamics of real election scenarios in the Philippines typically involve multi-candidate races, which could alter the outcomes. Additionally, Rye emphasized the premature nature of conducting surveys for the 2028 elections, echoing Tulfo’s request to exclude his name from such polls due to the early timing. Despite honoring Tulfo’s request, Rye highlighted that certain poll questions may still be beyond their control, suggesting the complexities involved in the polling process.
