Representatives from ABS-CBN and GMA Networks came together for a significant milestone as they officially inked contracts marking the transition of “It’s Showtime” to the latter network. The contract signing event, held at the GMA Network Center on EDSA corner Timog Avenue, was a momentous occasion attended by executives and hosts from both networks. Serving as hosts for the occasion were Robi Domingo from ABS-CBN and Iya Villania, who notably made her return to GMA after being with ABS-CBN from 2004 to 2014.

Among the key figures present were ABS-CBN Chairman Mark Lopez, President Carlo Katigbak, along with GMA executives Felipe Gozon and Gilberto Duavit Jr. Expressing appreciation for the warm reception, Carlo Katigbak extended gratitude to GMA for embracing “It’s Showtime” into their network family. In turn, Gilberto Duavit Jr. acknowledged the show’s significant contributions and impact over its 15-year run.

Felipe Gozon, in a lighthearted manner, teased about the potential for “It’s Showtime” to soar even higher with the backing of two networks, suggesting an anticipated increase in ratings. Vice Ganda, speaking on behalf of the hosts, conveyed heartfelt gratitude to GMA for the historic collaboration, emphasizing the excitement for the future endeavors of the show under its new home.

The much-anticipated move of “It’s Showtime” to GMA will commence on April 6, airing Mondays to Saturdays from noon to 2:30 p.m. This transition marks the takeover of the time slot previously occupied by “Tahanang Pinakamasaya.” With this significant shift, fans can look forward to a new chapter in the beloved variety show’s journey, now under the banner of GMA Network.
