Nine people have been arrested in connection with a firework attack on a police station near Paris’ Olympic venues, following the death of a teenager in a police chase. Paris police chief Laurent Nunez stated that around 50 individuals attacked the La Courneuve police station with mortar fireworks, stones, and Molotov cocktails. Although the police station suffered no damage, two officers sustained minor injuries during the confrontation, which lasted about 30 minutes. The incident occurred in the northern suburb of La Courneuve, known for hosting Olympic venues, including the Stade de France stadium. Nunez linked the attack to the recent death of an 18-year-old during a police chase, stating that the assailants were from the same neighborhood. Despite condemning the attack, local residents expressed concerns about the neighborhood’s reputation and urged against further violence.
