There are many hospitality brands that are based in other countries that have opened up shop in the Philippines; however, there is not a single Philippine-based hotel company that has actually expanded into other countries. To this point.

Plans to open a hotel project in Hokkaido, Japan, under the Hotel 101 brand, which is owned by Injap Sia’s DoubleDragon Properties Inc., are moving forward with full force. DoubleDragon announced on Thursday that it had successfully completed a contract signing for the purchase of a prime piece of land measuring 9,000 square meters in the popular ski town of Niseko. The contract signing was completed through the company’s subsidiaries DPPC Worldwide and Hotel 101 Worldwide Private Limited.

The mission of Edgar “Injap” Sia II-led DoubleDragon Corp. to expand the Hotel101 brand internationally has advanced.

They include DDPC Worldwide Pte. Ltd. and Hotel101 Worldwide Private Ltd. have purchased a 9,000 square meter plot of land in the Hokkaido Prefecture of Japan for the construction of its first worldwide Hotel101.

Sia wants the Hotel101 brand to gain international recognition, similar to other national hotel project brands like Holiday Inn for the US, Novotel for Europe, and Jinjiang Inn for China.

In addition, Sia remarked, “We want to convey pride and respect to every Filipino from anywhere in the world where Hotel101 may one day locate and operate.

According to a regulatory filing from DoubleDragon, the Hotel101 idea patent has already been submitted, and the Hotel101 trademark and country-specific domain names have been registered in a number of different countries across the world.

Additionally, DoubleDragon is creating the Hotel101 software for Apple iOS and Android so that it can operate effectively in numerous nations.

The Hotel101-Niseko will cater to both foreign and domestic tourists, as well as Filipino vacationers that travel to Hokkaido. Filipino visitors can reach the location by taking a short trip from Manila to Sapporo New Chitose Airport.
