New eco-plane for Cebu Pacific
16 April 2022
As part of its efforts to strengthen its operations in a way that is both environmentally friendly and sustainable, the leading airline in the Philippines, CEBU Pacific, received its tenth brand-new A321neo (New Engine Option) on April 2 from the facility of Airbus in Hamburg, Germany. This was done as part of CEBU Pacific’s initiatives.
According to a statement released by Cebu Pacific, the company’s newest A321neo, which is the company’s 18th new eco-plane, boasts a 20% boost in fuel efficiency and a nearly 50% reduction in noise footprint in comparison to earlier generations of aircraft.
The A321neo will be joining a young fleet that already includes the A330neo, which has been dubbed the greenest aircraft in Asia due to its capacity of 459 seats. This capacity allows for more passengers to be carried in a single flight, which results in the lowest carbon footprint per passenger per kilometer. The A321neo will also be joining this young fleet.
According to Alex Reyes, the chief strategy officer of Cebu Pacific, “our switch to more fuel-efficient NEO engine aircraft not only helps our sustainability plan but also allows us to maintain our hallmark inexpensive fares for every Juan.”
“The arrival is timely because we see positive developments indicating recovery, and we are constantly ramping up our domestic network and planning for more international destinations to ease restrictions for leisure travelers,” he added. “The arrival is also timely because we are constantly ramping up our domestic network and planning for more international destinations to ease restrictions for leisure travelers.”
Cebu Pacific plans to restart operations at the same levels they were at before the pandemic.
The airline’s birthplace of Cebu is represented in the cabin by yellow and sky blue highlights, and the seats in the cabin are sleek and lightweight ergonomic seats manufactured by Recaro.
In addition, an AC-compatible USB connector is built into each seat, enabling passengers to charge their electronic gadgets even while on the go.
There are now 22 Airbus A320ceos, six Airbus A320neos, seven Airbus A321ceos, ten Airbus A321neos, six Airbus A330ceos, two Airbus A330neos, 14 Airbus ATR 72-600s, six Airbus ATR 72-500s, and two Airbus ATR Freighters in Cebu Pacific’s fleet.
This month, Cebu Pacific is planning to put its new eco-plane A321neo aircraft into service. These planes will travel to a wide range of Philippine locations, connecting Cebu Pacific’s broad domestic network of 34 destinations.
